Carly Pearce Announces New Album ‘Hummingbird’ – Muddy Country Radio

Not even a week after Carly Pearce scrubbed her social media profile and cover images, making them all black and leading to speculation about what she was planning, the American singer-songwriter has announced the release of her new album, Hummingbird.

Hummingbird, her fourth album and the follow-up to 2021’s 29: Written In Stone, will be released via Big Machine Records on Friday, 14 June. The LP will arrive with 14 tracks, and for the first time, she’s co-produced one of her own albums (alongside collaborators Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne).

So far, we’ve already heard three of the album’s singles: We Don’t Fight Anymore (featuring Chris Stapleton), Country Music Made Me Do It, and Heels Over Head. Pearce announced the release of Hummingbird on social media – and dropped the title track – overnight (2 March). You can watch the music video below.

Introducing the album on Facebook, Pearce wrote, “The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it.

“These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music. When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve. That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of whatever we’re going through.”

Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton’s collaborative single, We Don’t Fight Anymore, was named Countrytown’s Best New Music last June.

Pearce said about the anthem via Instagram: “This song embodies a place that I think, if we are honest with ourselves, we’ve all felt at some point in a relationship. The distance that feels heartbreaking, yet you’re also indifferent. I’ve always been a writer who never wanted to shy away from the ‘uncomfortable’ moments in all of our lives, and this song feels too important not to share.”
